NIRVANA: New Book Due In September
June 30, 2003A brand new NIRVANA book, titled "Nirvana: The Day To Day Illustrated Journals", is tentatively set for release this September. The 192-page full-color tome is a reworked version of "Eyewitness Nirvana: The Day By Day Chronicle", which was written by Carrie Borzillo. Originally released in September of 2000, this updated version includes never-before seen photos — for a total of 200 — and is said to have the tacit approval of Courtney Love, the widow of NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain.
Borzillo said that she was relieved when she heard Courtney was cooperative about the book. "I was very happy when I heard that and I can quote on this, 'Courtney knows you're doing it, and she's fine with it'," she said. "To me that was good. So it was a blessing. Because Courtney could, um, cause trouble for people, so luckily that wasn't the situation."
The thirty-dollar book will feature interviews with NIRVANA manager Danny Goldberg and NIRVANA publicist Jim Merlis, among others.
In a press release, Goldberg said "Nirvana: The Day To Day Illustrated Journals" "conveys the day-to-day sequence of events with care and accuracy during the period of time in which I worked with the band."
